Writing

Below are some highlights from Nicole's most recent dramatic writing adventures.

Nicole is most passionate about writing queer and female-centered pieces that present more graceful visibility for the LGBTQ+ community. She does so through her complex yet relatable characters that invite their queerness into their lives as a simple facet of their being as natural and vital as breathing. Nicole's writing often percolates on themes such as shifting family dynamics, substance abuse, mental health, and grief. Asking questions is the name of the game, getting answers is rather a sweet surprise.

Nicole's first original staged production was entitled Home for the Weekend (a screenplay adapted to the stage), followed by U Had 2 B There, a stage/screen hybrid project.

U Had 2 B There

Utilizing both stage and film elements, U Had 2 B There follows three sisters through a transformational summer as they make the rocky adjustment to living under one roof again. What the girls expect to be a sweet, nostalgic summer, however, gets turned upside down when they come face to face with a deep family secret.
